For Eighth Graders & Their Families

It's not too soon for eighth graders and their parents to begin thinking about participating in the Central Dauphin High School RamBand program.

Marching Band Camp, for example, is mandatory for all band members, including incoming freshmen.  Band Camp is scheduled for the first two weeks in August.   BAND CAMP IS MANDATORY SO IF YOU'RE GETTING READY TO PLAN YOUR SUMMER VACATION, PLEASE REMEMBER BAND CAMP!   Click here for information on Band Camp.

Participating in the Ram Marching Band is a great way to get to know lots of your fellow freshmen as well as upperclassmen, and it will give you a head start on high school.  Click here for some general information we provide to freshman families.

The Central Dauphin Band Boosters attempt to provide eighth graders and their parents with a number of opportunities to learn about participation in the band programs.  For example, Buddy Night is an event where eighth graders experience a Central Dauphin Ram football game from the perspective of a Central Dauphin RamBand member (without the trademark green, gold, and white uniform and without having to learn any drill!).  Click here for more information on this year's Buddy Night.

Other useful resources for eighth grade parents who want more information about the High School music programs are available on this website.  They include the following:

We welcome as much participation and input as possible.  Why not join the boosters this year?  Get a head start on meeting the hard working parents who give 110% to help our bands in any way they can!  Or just come to a band boosters meeting to check it out.  Click here for more info on the Band Boosters.

Questions?  Feel free to contact any member of the Band Booster Officers, our high school band director, Mr. Ceresini, or our middle school band directors, Mr. Shellhamer and Mrs. Nelson.
