for the Surplus Funds Election Form and return it to
the Disney10 Box in the Band Room by March 12th. If
we don’t receive your form by then, we’ll credit the
surplus into your Student Account.
The Central Dauphin High School Band
is heading on down to Orlando and if you are a
member of any Central Dauphin Band, you’re invited
to come!! We are leaving for sunny Florida on
March 31, 2010, traveling in true coach style on new
buses with all the amenities. Plus we'll
be staying in awesome suites, pictured here.
Click here for a brochure on the hotel.
While
we’re in Orlando, the RamBand will be performing at DisneyWorld
(hopefully twice) and participating in a workshop.
The musicians will participate in the “You’re
Instrumental!” workshop, and become immersed into
the world of the professional musician. RamBand
students will sight read and prepare a polished
performance of special Disney musical selections in
a studio recording environment. The
workshop culminates with a special recording of our
ensemble performing music along with a portion of a Disney Animated Feature Film.
The guard (Band Front or Winter Guard)
students will attend “Disney Dancin’” which allows
them to experience the life of a professional Disney
Dancer taught by a professional Disney dancer.
The workshop culminates in a very special mock
performance incorporating all the necessary elements
of creating a “Disney Magical Moment!”
There will still be
plenty of time for fun in the sun, too. We’ll
enjoy tons of time at Disney with your ParkHopper
Pass- 4 days at the Disney Theme Parks (Magic
Kingdom, Epcot, MGM Studios, Animal Kingdom).
Plus we have other great events on tap, including a
trip back to Medieval Times! All in
all, it should be an amazing trip; you definitely
don’t want to miss it!

Method of Conveyance
Yes. A bus (well more than one, probably
three). You wanna get stuck at an airport with
the likes of us?

Who's Eligible
All the bands. While the past trips have
included only marching band members, we're trying a
new approach this year to see how it works.
Member of all three bands? Cool. Member
of one? Fine with us. If you're in a
CDHS band (marching, jazz, concert, or indoor), you're
invited to join us. We're planning to march
and perform in concert at Disney. That way we can show central Florida
what it's all about! Plus we'll participate in
a Disney workshop; hopefully you'll be able to
choose from music or flags.

Cancellations and Insurance
All deposits are non-refundable but are transferable
(so if Englebert Humperdinck deposits and backs out but
finds Tom
Jones to take his place, the deposit would now
be for
Tom Jones). All other payments are refundable
until February 12, 2010. For information regarding
cancellation after February 12, 2010, please contact
Sue Kruleski, Trip Coordinator.
Many companies offer
trip insurance; purchase on your own. There's lots
of available online-- you might want to check out
the Trip Insurance Store at
http://www.tripinsurancestore.com/quotation.php,
which provides a comparison of the various insurance
types available. The Band Boosters do not
recommend a particular brand or type of insurance:
as Mr. Brady told Greg, " It’s the old principle of
caveat emptor." Greg: "Caveat emptor?" Mike:
"It’s Latin for 'let the buyer beware.' Or to put it
in the vernacular, 'them who don’t look, sometimes
gets took.'"

What If
I Don't Want to Go?
Don't want to come? Fine. That just
means there's more Mickey Mouse ears for the rest of us.
No, seriously, because of the challenges of school
scheduling, we had to take this trip over Spring
Break, which means we'll be away over Easter.
So we certainly understand if folks decide not to
make the trek south. We'll miss ya, though!

My Mom and Dad Want to Ruin My Trip.
Can They Really Come?
Sorry. They can. As long as they pay.
And guess what? So can little bro or sis.
Don't worry, though, you don't have to hang out with
them ALL the time.
Can My Non-Band Kid Stay With My
Band Kid? Can my Band Kid Stay with Me?
Sorry. They can't. The rule is:
Band Kids stay only with other Band Kids. So
Non-Band kids don't stay with Band Kids. And
Band Kids don't stay with Band Parents, Non-Band
Parents, or anybody but Band Kids. And to be
clear: Band Kids are in the band AND in high
school. While we're happy to have younger
brothers and sisters as marching band runners, they
aren't "Band Kids" for the purposes of room
assignments. Mr. C's got enough to worry about
with Band Kids!!
Who's Chaperoning?
Mostly Band Staff. Maybe a few parents.
Suffice it to say, the entourage will be well
populated with responsible adults, including our
band director and his staff and a coterie of parents
yet to be named. Yeah, we found the word
"coterie" on an online thesaurus. So what?
We're a website, not an English teacher.
Click here if you don't know what a
coterie is.

I Have Questions. To Whom Shall I
Direct Them?
We'll have a mandatory trip meeting in a few
months. In the meantime, just shoot your
question via e-mail to
boosters@cdramband.org and we'll
try to get you answers. Or contact our trip
coordinators, Denise Hess, Sue Kinneer, and Sue
Kruleski.
