According to our records you are a recent supporter of the Central Dauphin High Ram Band and for that we would like to THANK YOU! Perhaps you are or your child is a recent graduate, you have supported us financially, or you have attended one or more of our sponsored events. As you are probably aware, in just the past year we were able to host the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Airmen of Note and the United States Navy Concert Band. For our next installment of the Legends of Music series we have booked the Presidio Brass from California to perform for and with our high school bands on Tuesday, September 20th, 2011.
There is considerable research that shows that experience in the arts helps to improve the way people think. Central Dauphin High School is fortunate to have a thriving and successful band program that offers these benefits to over 175 students. There are 3 Concert Bands, 3 Jazz Bands, a Marching Band and 3 Indoor Performance Units.
We realize we are quite fortunate in the fact that the
district supports our band, but the CDHS band program is also financially
dependent upon the Band Boosters Organization which
is a non-profit
501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting our High School Band
programs. With an annual budget
of approximately $80,000 a year, the Boosters supplement the Band Directors
budget and in just the past five years have purchased many instruments and
equipment that are needed for a diverse and exciting band program.
