Fundraising

Why We Need to Raise Funds

Did you know the Band Boosters raise the almost $20,000 annually that's required to supplement the school district's budget for the Central Dauphin band programs?   And for the coming five years, our goal is even more ambitious:  we are seeking to raise the $80,000 required to purchase items requested by our Band Director.  Click here to see the items on Mr. Ceresini's Wish List.

Besides the Wish List items, examples of items for which the Band Boosters pay include the following:

The Band Boosters' fundraising efforts benefit every single band student, whether he or she participates in one band or in several bands.  And fundraising can bolster your Student Ledger, which you can use for Band activities such as trip payments, music lessons, instrument purchases and repairs, and payment for Band Booster events.  Click here for more information on Student Ledgers.

In 2007, the Central Dauphin Band Boosters Association revamped the fundraising to address member concerns.  Here is a copy of that Committee Report.   As we roll out each new fundraising initiative, we'll have a link to the program from this page.  And we welcome your comments, so sfter you've had a chance to review this information, feel free to send an e-mail to boosters@cdramband.org.

Landis Field Concession Stand

Coordinators: Looking for 2010-11 Coordinators!

The RamBand Boosters operate the Visitors' Concession stand every Ram home game at Landis Field.  More than just selling hot dogs, working with other band parents in the Concession Stand is a truly gratifying experience.  The Concession Stand is a great place to become involved, meet other parents, and compare notes.  Staffing an operation of this size requires the support of every single band booster parents.  That's why we ask each parent to volunteer to work just one half of one football game each season at our concession stands.

Best of all, you can take your pick of the following exciting opportunities:  working the window taking orders and money; filling drink orders; making the food; running extra supplies to the stand, and many other tasks.  Ready to sign up?  Click here.

Bake Sale

Coordinator:  Looking for 2010-11 Coordinators!
E-mail: boosters@cdramband.org
One easy way for the band boosters to make money is by selling baked items at all our home football games and the Band-a-RAMa exhibition.  Donating items is an easy way for you to get involved and help support the boosters. It’s this easy.  Make brownies, cookies, rice krispies treats, homemade candies, chocolate dipped pretzels, or other small items for our bake sale table. Wrap the items in  individual serving  sizes to be sold for 50 cents.  Bring the items to the bake sale table on the visitors’ side before the game.  It’s so easy that the money will come pouring in to support our band. If you would like to help work at the table, you are more than welcome!  This is a fun way to volunteer and feel involved. (Extra perk - You won’t have to pay to get into the game if you are working at the bake sale table.) Plus, don't forget about the popular People’s Choice Award. We will announce the favorite items from the bake sale table in future Ram-a-Grams!
