Get
the Picture Corporation (GTP) owns, operates, and staffs the souvenir photo
and video concessions in HERSHEYPARK and HERSHEY'S CHOCOLATE WORLD Visitor
Center in Hershey, PA, and Dutch Wonderland, in Lancaster, PA and Strasburg
Railroad. For further information about the corporation, visit their
website at
http://www.gtpcorp.com/vol/index.php Registered volunteers work in one
of the photo stands, either running a simple register or assembling the
photos (no previous experience necessary). Shifts vary from 4 to 9 hours.
Groups will receive $7.50 per hour, per volunteer in the form of a check
issued by GTP. When we get the payment, we'll credit 70% of that amount
you've worked to your Student Ledger.
You will be required to stand; you'll get a break according to the length of your shift. While we are looking for volunteers over the age of 18, GTP will accept volunteers who are at least 14 years old – all volunteers under 18 must comply with Child Labor Laws, posted at http://gtpcorp.com/cll.pdf.
Remember if you work with your son/daughter, you get double the $$. There is a strict dress code, specific parking directions, and more detailed information about the volunteer program in the FAQ section of their website at http://www.gtpcorp.com/vol/faq1.php Check out the perks – like you can get into HP free before/after your shift on a day you are working! Shifts are available in Hershey from the beginning of April through the end of the year.
There are Strasburg Railroad shifts in June, September, and November. The shift listing is a constantly updated list, so check back frequently. As shifts are posted, they are first come, first serve for all registered groups. Each individual shift may be assigned to only one person and may not be split up. If you want to work the same time as someone else, you must sign up for shifts with the same starting and ending times as that other person. If you are unable to work your shift, you must find your own replacement. “No shows” jeopardize the entire CD Band Boosters eligibility to participate in the volunteer program. You must call off if you can’t make a shift or you could get us kicked out of the program!
Bring a friend to help you as a GTP volunteer for two eight hour shifts and you could have raised about $240, or about one third of the cost to send your student to Disneyworld for the Spring 2010 All Band Trip!
Check out the shift listing at http://www.gtpcorp.com/vol/shifts.php.
If you have questions, or want to register as a GTP volunteer for the CD Band Boosters, please contact Barby Warfield at dcmartin2004@aol.com.
