What is the RamBand Business Sponsorship Program?

This is an opportunity for Band members to reach out to area businesses and obtain financial sponsorships that support all RamBand activities. 

Who benefits from the RamBand Business Sponsorship Program?

The funds raised help Mr. Ceresini, our Band Director, supply RamBand students with instruments, supplies, and equipment throughout the year.  But, it also builds RamBand members’ Student Accounts. You can use your Student Account for band-related expenses, ranging from instrument purchases, repairs and accessories (reeds, etc.) to the upcoming 2012 Band Trip.  And don’t forget that all RamBand students are eligible to participate in the Band Trip – it’s not just for marching band participants.

Band members receive $.30 of every dollar they raise!  For example, obtain a $100 sponsorship and $30 will go into your Student Account.  With RamBand Sponsorships ranging from $50 to $2,500, that money can add up fast!  The Business Sponsorship Program benefits not only the marching band but also includes all RamBand performing ensembles at Central Dauphin; i.e., concert bands, jazz bands, and indoor units.

How can you participate?   You can participate one of two ways:

Supply us with a list of business names.  These can be your hair stylist, dentist, orthodontist, dry cleaner, or your local pizza shop.  Do any family members own a business?  Don’t forget to add them to your list.  You can either ask us to mail/email the sponsorship information directly to the sponsor, or you or your student can hand deliver it (we find hand deliveries work best). Ask us to assign you 5-10 (or more) businesses from our list.  Any sponsorship dollars received will directly benefit your Student Account.

Please note:  Businesses will be assigned on a first come basis. Prior year assignments will be honored.

Past Success and Future Goals

Last year we raised nearly $13,000. Sponsorship revenue is especially important because of the continual growth of the RamBand program.  Over the past few years, the Band Boosters Association has been able to make significant investments in new band equipment and instruments, as well as funding our residency with the Dallas Brass, as well as the Legends of Music Concert Series, including last year’s Artie Shaw Orchestra concert.  Looking ahead, Business Sponsorship revenue will help cover this year’s Presidio Brass Concert on September 20, 2011. And we can’t stress enough how quickly individual Student Accounts can grow by taking advantage of this opportunity.

Contact Kim St.Clair, at kimstclair@comcast.net or 652-1242, with your list of businesses or your request for businesses from our list. Remember, Businesses are on a first come basis.  We're asking you to approach businesses as soon as possible so that we can purchase any equipment needed for our August Marching Band Camp and any beginning of school year Band needs.

Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to help build the Central Dauphin RamBand program and your Student Account.  There aren’t too many students who want to turn down a band trip during their high school years.  Begin building your Student Account early!
