Marching Band

In addition to performing in front of appreciative Ram fans, the Central Dauphin Ram Band has played in recent years dozens of local parades and civic events, at Philadelphia Phillies games at Citizens Bank Park, and has paraded down Main Street, U.S.A. at Disney World in Orlando Florida during the 2005 Thanksgiving band trip.   For more details on the CD Ram Marching Band, use the Navigation Bar or click here.

Jazz Bands

Central Dauphin boasts the following three jazz bands:

Stage Band:  The Stage Band consists mostly of freshmen and sophomores.  The Stage Band meets in the morning before school every other day to practice.  The band holds several concerts each year and plays at various other events, both at school and on the road.  Last year, for example, the Stage Band played at Knoebels Amusement Park and Resort, at the St. Valentine's Day Dessert Dance, at the Barn Dance, and at many other events.

Jazz Band:  The Jazz Band is composed mostly  of junior and seniors.  The Jazz Band also travels and has played numerous events throughout the area.

Jazz Combo:  The Jazz Combo is a small, elite jazz band.  Participants in the Jazz Combo must devote a great deal of time and energy, as the group performs more frequently than the Stage Band or Jazz Band.  Click here for Jazz Combo performance photos.

Concert Bands

Symphonic Band:  The Symphonic Band consists mainly of freshman and sophomores, who meet one period every day during school to practice. 

Wind Ensemble:  aThe Wind Ensemble consists mainly of juniors and seniors, who meet one period every day during school to practice.  The Wind Ensemble holds several concerts each year.

Indoor Units

Each winter, many members of our marching band stay in rhythm by participating in the CD Ram Indoor groups.   The 2006-07 groups include a Moving Percussion unit, an Guard Unit, and a Majorette unit.  Click on the "Event" hyperlink below for photos for each Indoor event. Summer Jazz:  Each summer, many members of our musical groups gather just days after the end of the school year, demonstrating commitment to music by participating in the Central Dauphin Summer Jazz band.   Many recent graduates also perform in this excellent ensemble.  Last summer's CD Summer Jazz schedule included a Phillies-Yankees game (click here for the box score), the 2006 Relay For Life for the Greater Harrisburg Area at Susquehanna Township High School, and American MusicFest,the state’s largest Independence weekend music festival, held at Harrisburg's Riverfront Park.  Click here for more info on Summer Jazz.
