District
Official: "Band Bus Refurbishment May Have
Gone Too Far"

In a recent article, this website revealed for the
first time the reports of the demise of the Central
Dauphin Ram Band Equipment Bus may have been untrue.
Further information is now available. According to an unnamed school district official,
the Ram Band Equipment Bus has not only been
restored mechanically but also has been transformed
into a fully functional and seaworthy replica of the
pirate ship Black Pearl. According to the
unnamed source, a member of the school district's
transportation department, formerly employed by the Teutel family of Orange County Choppers fame,
was so inspired by the Ram Band trip to Disney World
and the Ram Indoor Drumline's rendition of
The Incredibles that she wanted to do something
special to acknowledge this year's field show, which
is based on the Disney film, Pirates of the
Caribbean, Curse of the Black Pearl, which is
based upon the Disney World amusement park ride.
(Students: don't try a sentence like that at home.)
According to the source, rather than marching down
Second Street during the
Harrisburg Holiday Parade, the Ram Band will
instead begin the parade in the middle of the
Susquehanna River at Dauphin, sailing downstream the past
the mini-Statute of Liberty and into the capital city.
The school district official acknowledged that because of
the summer vacation schedule, the transportation
employee was left unsupervised during much of the
past few months, stating, "She may have exceeded the
scope of her employment in performing these
renovations." |

Artist's rendering of the schematic drawing of
the Central Dauphin Ram Band bus renovations planned
for the forthcoming Marching Band season. It
is as of yet unclear whether these renovations will
require additional fundraising efforts by the band
boosters. Scott Miller, the CD Ram Band
Boosters President, has scheduled an emergency
training session for all Band Booster chaperones to
address the numerous new skills that will be
required with the new equipment bus. "First of
all, we've got to get everyone up to speed on the
bow and stern thing," said Mr. Miller. "After
that we'll worry about starboard, port and whatnot."
Mr. Miller had not yet heard back from the boosters'
insurance carrier as to whether flying a Jolly Roger
would result in an increase in the band boosters'
deductible. |
