Fundraising
Welcome to the Band
Boosters' brand new fundraising page! Did you
know the Band Boosters raise the almost $20,000
annually that's required to supplement the school
district's budget for the Central Dauphin band
programs? And for the coming year, our goal
is even more ambitious: we are seeking to
raise the $80,000 required to purchase items
requested by our Band Director.
to see the items on Mr. Ceresini's Wish List.
Besides the
Wish List items,
examples of items for which the Band Boosters pay
include the following:
-
Band equipment
and repairs;
-
Office supplies;
-
End of year
banquet, banquet gifts, and scholarship awards;
-
Assistance for
students to pay for music lessons, instrument
repairs, band shoes, etc.;
-
Meals for band
members several times each season;
-
Special Events
such as Senior Recognition Night and the Jazz
Band Picnic.
The Band Boosters'
fundraising efforts benefit every single band
student, whether he or she participates in one band
or in several bands.
At the February, 2007
Central Dauphin Band Boosters' Meeting, members of
the Fundraising Committee provided an overview of
the group's work to date on the 2007-08 fundraising
calendar proposal. We have worked hard to address
member concerns and think we have come up with an
fresh new approach to Ram Band Fundraising! But we
need your input. For that reason, we welcome your
comments on the
Committee Report (click
here to open a copy).
As we roll out each
new fundraising initiative, we'll have a link to the
program from this page. And we welcome your
comments, so sfter you've had a chance to review
this information, feel free to send an e-mail to
boosters@cdramband.org.

order. Hyperlinks will be added when we add
event details. Click on a fundraising event for more details)

Business Sponsorship

We’re pleased to announce an exciting new program
for local businesses: sponsorship of the Central
Dauphin RamBand. Sponsors can choose to donate on
seven different levels ranging from $50 as a
“Friend” to $2,500 as a “Platinum Sponsor” of the
band. The Sponsorship program will run in July
and August.
for an overview of the Sponsorship levels. The
program's also exciting for students for two
reasons. First, students are eligible for up to 30%
of each sponsorship for their student accounts!
Second, in an effort to start this solicitation
campaign off on the right foot, we're going to run a
bunch of incentives for band students, described in
more detail on our

Landis Field
Concession Stand

|
Coordinators: |
Mark
Guise &
Hal Hammaker |
The RamBand Boosters operate the Visitors'
Concession stand every Ram home game at Landis
Field. More than just selling hot dogs,
working with other band parents in the Concession
Stand is a truly gratifying experience. Look
at these four band parents: Don't they look as
though they are on the verge of attaining Zen?
Okay, we exaggerate! Really, though, the
Concession Stand is a great place to become
involved, meet other parents, and compare notes.
Staffing an operation of this size requires the
support of every single band booster parents.
That's why we ask each parent to volunteer to work
just one half of one football game each season at our
concession stands. Best of all, you can take
your pick of the following exciting opportunities:
working the window taking orders and money; filling
drink orders; making the food; running extra
supplies to the stand, and many other tasks.

Bake Sale
|
Coordinator: |
Lisa
Jeanne Thorwart |
One easy way for the band boosters to make money is
by selling baked items at all our home football
games and the Band-a-RAMa exhibition. Donating
items is an easy way for you to get involved and
help support the boosters. It’s this easy.
Make brownies, cookies, rice krispies treats,
homemade candies, chocolate dipped pretzels, or
other small items for our bake sale table. Wrap the
items in individual serving sizes to be
sold for 50 cents. Bring the items to the bake
sale table on the visitors’ side before the game.
It’s so easy that the money will come pouring in to
support our band. If you would like to help work at
the table, you are more than welcome! This is
a fun way to volunteer and feel involved. (Extra
perk - You won’t have to pay to get into the game if
you are working at the bake sale table.) NEW THIS
YEAR! People’s Choice Award. We will announce the
favorite items from the bake sale table in future
Ram-a-Grams!

SKH Concession

|
Coordinator: |
Donna
Degrandchamp (Fall) |
The Band
Boosters will set up a concession stand at Stauffers
of Kissel Hill during their upcoming Fall Festival
so we can serve hungry customers and staff members
at their Linglestown Road Garden Center. The SKH Fall
Festival includes lots of favorite fall
activities, including pumpkin painting, free games,
free scavenger hunt, free face painting, build a
scarecrow plus much more!
In 2007-08 we hope to again have a concession during
Stauffers of Kissel Hill's fall and spring
promotions on dates to be announced, probably between 11 am
and 4 pm, rain or shine. We'll need
donations of homemade soups, breads, fudge, other
baked goods and drinks.

RamBandCard:

|
Coordinator: |
Executive
Committee |
A great
fundraising opportunity starting in December 2008! The RamBand Card will sell
starting in early 2008 for only $10.00. Each card, however, is worth much,
much more than that! Last year, the RamBand
Card provided amazing savings at a variety of local
merchants, including Cold
Stone Creamery, Dick's Sporting Goods, St. Thomas
Roasters, and
Subway. This year,
we're offering a bounty as we try to get the 2008
RamBand Card program together. Are you aware of
any merchants that you’d like to approach? Looking to
add your favorite pizza shop, fast food restaurant, or
dry cleaner? Now’s your chance to help the band boosters
and get up to a $50 bounty for your student account!
Simply sign up a local merchant (Harrisburg area only,
please, and try to keep it “in the neighborhood”) that
hasn’t previously participated on the RamBand Card. If
we add your business onto the RamBand
Card, you’ll get $25 added to your student account right
away!! If we hit all our sales goals for the RamBand
Card, you’ll get another $25 bonus!!

Bowl-a-RAMa

Bowl-a-RAMa is an event to benefit the Central Dauphin High School RamBand
programs. We're looking for as many bowlers as possible to participate in the
inaugural event. It will be a great team-building event where participants raise
money, then bowl for a few hours, mingle, and generally have some fun. It's also
an opportunity for a final fling for the departing band members in the senior
class as well as a chance to meet with the incoming freshman class of band
members.

Golf-a-RAMa is an
event to benefit the Central Dauphin High School
RamBand programs. We're looking for as many golfers
as possible to participate in the inaugural event.
It will be a great team-building event where
participants get to play a round of golf on a
beautiful spring day in Central Pennsylvania, try
their skills in a variety of contests, mingle, have
a great 19th hole banquet, and generally have some
fun. It's also an opportunity for those band members
and band parents and friends who golf to get out and
meet our sponsors, patrons, band staff, and friends!
