School is just around the corner so that can only mean one thing - BAND CAMP! There is only one mini camp left and the traditional 2 week band camp is the first two weeks of August. Attendance at band camps is mandatory. Band members should bring water to all band camps.
Mini-Band Camp Dates:
Monday - Wednesday, July 20 - 22 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
August Band Camp Dates:
Monday - Friday, August 3 - 7
Monday - Friday August 10 - 14

Give yourself a break from cooking this summer and join us at Perkins for a Dine2Donate band fundraiser. Perkins will donate a portion of their profits to the band for orders placed & paid for between 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM on August 5 & 6. We - CD Band families - must get 100 people to dine at Perkins over the two nights. In order to be counted, you must hand the cashier a Perkins Dine2Donate coupon for each member of your party. Four people eating -- four tickets to the cashier; it is that simple.

Our annual summer R&K Fundraiser is scheduled to coincide with band camp. Order forms will be handed out the last night of mini-camp. Fundraisers are not mandatory, but a percentage of your band student's profits will go into his or her student account. This money can be used for Wearable, private lessons, instrument purchase, band trips etc... This fundraiser is for any student in any band program -- concert band, jazz band, marching band, percussion ensemble or color guard.
Order forms and payments are due on Monday, August 3 at Band Camp. If possible, please play with one check payable to "CD Band Booster Association." Orders and payments are to be put in "The Box" in the band room. Orders will be delivered on Wednesday, August 12. Pick up is at 12:00 in the band room following the morning session of band camp.

Many of you may already be aware from attending meetings that the District has a new policy on Volunteers, effective July 1st of this year. This is a new State regulation, and is only being enforced by the District.
Starting July 1st, ALL adults who have consistent contact with students will need to have all three clearances on file with the district. This includes the Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse Check and FBI Fingerprints. The first two are $10 each and the FBI Fingerprint is $27; however, effective July 25, 2015, Governor Wolf has waived the fee for the Criminal Background Check and Child Abuse Check. You may sign an affidavit form to be exempt from the FBI clearance if you have lived in Pennsylvanin for more than 10 years. Once you have obtained the necessary paperwork, you must schedule an appointment at the Administration building (717)545-4703.
