SANDY MCCLAIN

BAND CAMP POOL PARTY

CHRISTIAN HAUGHSBY

Held at the end of Marching Band Camp in August, the Central Dauphin Boosters recognize the hard work done by the students and staff during Band Camp, and celebrate with a pool party for everyone and their families.

BAND BANQUET

Each Spring, the Central Dauphin Band Boosters hold a banquet to recognize the students in all of the performing units.  Every student in grades 9 through 12 involved in a band or indoor group is invited to attend.  Camaraderie and special recognitions highlight the banquet.

BAND UNIFORMS

SANDY MCCLAIN

Marching Band members are provided uniforms purchased by the Band Boosters.  Band members are fitted for their uniforms during Band Camp, and though they are responsible for ensuring proper care is taken while they are wearing it at events and performances, lots of work needs done maintaining these great looking uniforms throughout the Marching Band season and year-round.

SPIRIT WEAR

SHEILA DENEZZA

Spirit Wear is the Ram Band's very own clothing and accessories shop.  You've seen students and band parents proudly wearing their Ram Band shirts, hoodies and flannel pants and you've wondered where they bought them.  They bought them through the Band Boosters!  Click on the Shop item in the main menu at the top of this webpage to be directed to our store, or contact our coordinator directly via the button provided here for more information.

BAND-A-RAM-A

2017 marked the 35th year of the Central Dauphin High School Marching Band's Band-a-RAMa.  We host regional high school bands at Landis Field, every fall, which is where we perform both before, during, at halftime, and after CDHS home football games.  Landis Field is situated at the Central Dauphin Middle School.  Band-a-RAMa is an evening of great music, pageantry and color, that's enjoyable for the entire family.  Band-a-RAMa is one of our largest fundraisers.

BUSINESS SPONSORSHIP

PROGRAM

The Business Sponsor Program is an opportunity for local businesses to support our bands.  The program also provides guidance to all band members to reach out and obtain those financial sponsorships that support all Ram Band activities, all while ensuring a percentage of those sponsorship monies go into their Student Account.  Over the past years, the Band Boosters Association has been able to make significant investments in new band equipment and instruments, thanks to the generosity of area businesses and organizations using this program.

MARCHING BAND

EQUIPMENT MOVERS

After obtaining your Central Dauphin School District Volunteer Badge, you can sign up to be an equipment mover for one of our many Marching Band performances.  Because of the size of our Marching Band, and the frequency of travel, movers are always needed to help and support.

CRAFT SHOW

RACHEL FRASER

The Craft Show is held every spring, and is situated indoors at our state-of-the-art high school located at 437 Piketown Road in Harrisburg, PA (at the intersection with Route 39 (Linglestown Road)) with easy access from Interstates I-81 and I-83. Admission and parking are free. Our show features handcrafted merchandise from nearly 200 crafters, food concessions, and door prizes held throughout the day. All proceeds from the craft show support the Central Dauphin High School Ram Band program.

INDOOR-RAM-A

BRIAN BURNS

The Central Dauphin High School Band Boosters are proud to host Indoor-RAMa, a Keystone Indoor Drill Association (KIDA) sanctioned competition.  KIDA is a competitive, educational indoor circuit, with units in Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and the Washington DC metro area.   Our Indoor-RAMa is held in early spring each year at our beautiful Central Dauphin High School, located at 437 Piketown Road, Harrisburg, PA.  Interested units can register via the KIDA website www.kida.org.

KNOEBELS JAZZ PICNIC

Every year in late spring, Director of Jazz Mr. Bitner, and students from the Jazz Big Bands and Orchestra travel to Knoebels Amusement Park in Elysburg, PA for a day of music and fun.  Highlighted by our Jazz Bands entertaining thousands of guests, playing in the Park's famous "band shell" students show off their talents, and have time to enjoy the park.

LANDIS FIELD

CONCESSION STAND
BRIAN BURNS

The Band Boosters operate the Visitors' Concession stand at every home football game at Landis Field in the fall.  Volunteers work the window taking orders and money; filling drink orders; making the food; restocking and more.  Shifts are divided by the game half time, such that you can enjoy the Marching Band on field and in the stands, as well as the football game, either the first or second half, depending on the time slot you choose.  If you work a shift at the stand, you get into the game for free.  You can sign up for this volunteer opportunity in the fall via the CHARMS website.

BRIAN BURNS

The Band Boosters are always excited for the new school year, and opportunities to have others join the ranks! Our Membership Program Volunteer helps organize applications and come up with ways to encourage everyone to become a part of this excellent association.  Becoming a member provides you a wide range of opportunities to support and be involved with any and all bands and ensembles.  And all levels of membership gives you the right to vote, make motions, and hold office at meetings and within the organization.
